What a beautiful few weeks we have had in Cornwall lately, so much good swell and sunshine to get us into the spring equinox. This is one of the best times to be in Cornwall. We are really busy in the gallery getting new image set up for Easter and the summer a head. We cant wait to see you all enjoying the Cornish coast again this summer.
A few things to look out for in some Cornish Rockpools
This was my first photo I took on a hasselblad 500cm. I walked straight out of the gallery and Oscar was working on the bulkheads. It felt like a planned shoot, great subject, beautiful diffused light and the textures of the metal and stone work complimented this moment so well.
Hi guys, Happy Valentines Day, hope you all have a great day! It’s been a busy start to the year getting things organised for the year ahead. I can’t believe we are now in our fifth year in the gallery, It’s been an absolute dream come true to have this as my full time job and we are so excited for the year ahead.
Cornwall has been delivering some beautiful, sunny, crisp days which are what I love about winter in Cornwall. The water is always clearer and you have the chance to get pictures like the one above which is impossible on a busy summers day. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the harbour in St Ives without any boats in before.
I love days like this in Cornwall. I have called the imaged below Dark Days and was taken on a Nikon d800e. I can’t wait to be putting this one on a Hd Metal.
What a great weekend of sunshine and clear glassy waves. We took Coral down to Porthcurno and it was like we were abroad, tucked out of the wind with only a few other people it was like we were on our own tropical Island. Cornwall really is a special place to live.
So stoked to get the cover shot of Carve this month! I’m so pleased it made the cover, what a wave, so well deserved Ben Skinner. I cant stop smiling haha! Always a pleasure to watch and capture Ben charging on the biggest days we get in Cornwall. Stoked, yeeeew! 🙂

It is Ben’s first ever cover, and probably the best water shot we have seen of Porthleven. The shot is by Cornish photographer Mike Lacey. So congratulations to him too. Shaka’s all round!

What a beautiful day we have had in Cornwall today. Here’s an image I have called Backwash as this peaky section in the wave is created when the wave before it bounces off the cliffs and runs back out and hits the wave behind it sending a section right up in the air. Hope you like it. 🙂
The waves today were 11-18 feet in Porthleven, thankfully the tide was only 4.9 metres high so nothing quite as bad as Feb 2014. Still loads of people getting soaked walking along the harbour front. It’s probably more dangerous this size as it takes you by surprise so be careful if you are in Porthleven over the next week, It’s looking pretty big swells for the week ahead and the tides are a bit bigger too. Keep safe everyone.

This guy was so friendly, It’s amazing how relaxed they are with you when your in water with them. I was swimming on the south coast and he just followed me for ages and wanted to play. What a great experience.
